So think there is a typo in the question stem; i presume the equation given is x+y^2+3z>=0 is that right?

in that case, i agree it should be E

It is easy to come up with examples why B isn't sufficient and why C wouldn't be the right answer either

x + y^2 + 3z >= 0;

1. y> = 0; doesn't help

y^2 is anyways going to be > =0; 1 is insufficient

2. x<=0; z<=0

in first place itself the inequality can be written as is x + 3z > = 0? (y^2 is going to be > = 0)

again this is not sufficient;

even the combination of 1 and 2 doesn;t help.

IMO E
