Hi,

As per the below article, there have been changes in GMAT sc and changes seem significant.

As per the reviews of Mgmat test, I got to know Mgmat SC in the test is a bit easy..
So, I wanted to know whether Mgmat has adapted to these changes in GMAT Sc?

If not, when do you expect Mgmat test will have changes in its SC questions??

Hey,

The increased emphasis on meaning in SC questions has already been happening - you'll still see both grammar-based and meaning-based Qs, but you'll see a higher proportion that rely on meaning than you currently see in OG, for example.

For the idioms bit, my best guess is that there probably still are some idioms in there (it takes time to strip them all out), but a lot are probably gone already. So definitely low priority, and maybe zero priority, on idioms (for your study).

Keep the above changes in mind and you can still confidently use Manhattan GMAT's SC Strategy Guide to study. Once GMAC releases more information on GMAT changes, we will be updating our Strategy Guides. This will likely be happening in Spring 2012 to coincide with the Next Generation GMAT starting June 2012.

Thanks for the reply.

Also, I wanted to know is there any change in Mgmat tests from the past one year (Aug 2010) apart from SC? For example, Mgmat quant was more calculation based and hence took more time. This was not the case in GMATPrep or actual GMAT...Has that aspect changed?
I gave those tests in August 2010 and was scoring average of 670-680...
I wanted to know about this change so that I can compare last year's performance with this year's performance...

Hey,

Manhattan GMAT practice tests have not changed dramatically since August 2010. If you take the practice tests again, you should be able to make a fair comparison between your performance this year and last.

Please advise if we have to go through the long list of Idioms presented in SC guide? As per the above changes.or just those in OG 12 is sufficient?

They have stripped out only US-centric idioms. (When they first made the announcement, they said idioms in general, but they later clarified that they only took out US-centric idioms.)

They have not provided a list of which idioms they consider US-centric, but the list in our SC guide does not include any that I would definitely call only US-centric. In other words: yes. Study them. :) (By the way, we compiled our list from OG12 - so you can study from either one!)
