Apply to schools or Retake GMAT ??

Hello Everyone,

I took the GMAT yesterday and scored 500 (Q39/V20) . I plan to apply for the following programs/schools

Dallas MBA, UT Austin (avg 638)
Professional MBA, SMU COX (avg 600)
Professional MBA, UT Dallas (avg 600)
Professional MBA, UT Arlington (avg 500)
My choices are limited as I plan to study part-time keeping my job.

I've attached my resume below giving complete details of my work ex and my education but here's the brief version

Work Ex
Buyer Planner (Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions LLC, Garland, TX)
July 2011 - present

Main job responsibilities include
Planning, procuring parts exclusively ordered by our plants in China & India.
Planning and procuring Kanban material for regular production of Drilling Rigs at Garland.
Sales order maintenance and invoicing including logistics planning and domestic/export documentation for all parts shipped to plants in China & India.
Coordinator for movements of all internal/external customer goodwill orders.

Recently completed a project leading a team of six that involved inventory categorization of 18,965 parts into their basic functional categories.

Sourcing Engineer (Atlas Copco India Ltd. , Surface Drilling Equipment Division)
June 2010 - July 2011

Main Responsibilities included:
Planning , procuring and inventory management of all Hydraulic parts and Electrical
Responsible for complete cost control and negotiations of all parts procured.
Planning, procuring and inventory management of all long lead imports from Europe, East Asia and US
Audit and Development of Vendor capabilities as per the Total Supplier Quality Program established as per the World Class Quality requirement of the Division.

Lead projects for creating Brand Awareness and Brand Visibility about Atlas Copco and Employer Branding at a local business school.

Sourcing Engineer (Atlas Copco India Ltd. , Drilling Equipment Division)
June 2010 - July 2011

Main Responsibilities included:
Strategic sourcing, development and negotiation of Hydraulic and Electrical parts from local vendors in order to reduce import, lead time, inventory carrying cost etc.
TAKT based planning and procurement of parts to maintain flow of production and assembly line.
Imports planning of assemblies and parts from Europe

Lead a project for Kanban implementation of hardware to improve the flow of production line and reduce shortages due to C class parts.

Education:

Bachelor of Engineering: Branch - Production - University of Pune, May 2008 -Passed with First Class (60.7%)
Higher Secondary Certificate (Grade 12th)- Branch - Science , Vocation: Electrical Maintenance - University of Mumbai , February 2004 - Passed with Distinction (81.2%)
Secondary Certificate Examination (Grade 10th) - Maharashtra State Board, March 2002
Passed with Distinction (83.5%)



Can you please advice if I should go ahead with my applications to the programs/schools listed above or do I need to give the GMAT again.

Definitely retake. You want to get your GMAT up to at least 600 for the schools you are applying to.

Thanks Jim , I did not want to re-take the exam but I see now that the main screening criteria for any school is the GMAT score. I'm planning for a next attempt around January . Hope to score atleast a 600. Its not easy but I don't have a choice really.
