Master from France/Europe

by Mayank214 » Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:16 am
Hi,

I have done B.tech in Electronics & Telecommunication with CGPA 9 out of 10.

I am interested in doing MBA from europe but they require 2 to 3 yrs of wrk exp.At present I am having 14 months of wrk exp.

Some of the top B schools in France or Europe have courses like Masters in Mnagement or Msc.in marketing. Is it worth doing it ? What will be job prospect after these course? Will I be able to get a job in europe on completion of course?

Hi and thanks for your question. Unfortunately, it's a very general question and doesn't really get to the core of the issue which, as it so often is, is what you want.

The master's degrees that you mention are all fine programs and there is nothing wrong with them. And, since they are based in Europe and assuming that you have the necessary work permit, you can be certain that European companies are recruiting there and will hire alumni.

The real question is...are those the kinds of jobs that you want? Are they going to pay enough? And, more generally, are those the kinds of degrees that are going to achieve the things that you originally wanted to achieve with an MBA.

I would do my homework on the MSc type degrees and examine very carefully what the differences between them and a traditional MBA are. Then, with reflection, you can decide if they make sense for you.

Please understand I'm not ignoring your question; I'm just sounding one my themes which is that choosing a program means knowing your own desires in many areas and then finding a program that most closely matches your desires.
Keep me in the loop about your thinking and let me know if you have any more questions.
