(1/5)^M (1/4)^18 = 1 / 2(10)^35
(1/5)^M (1/2)^36 = 1 / 2(10)^35
(1/5)^M (1/2)^36 = 1 / 2(2*5)^35
(1/5)^M (1/2)^36 = (1/2)^36 *(1/5)^35
Equating the exponents of the same base
M = 35

Thanks for the explanation. Not sure why I'm missing this, but can you please explain what the rule is that lets you convert (1/4)^18 to (1/2)^36?

Also, can you please explain how you converted [ 1 / 2(2*5)^35 ] to (1/2)^36 * (1/5)^35 ?
