I feel the material you are following is not relevant to GMAT as this question and the ones you've posted in other threads are not GMAT types. As far as this question is concerned, I believe it is incomplete. Without knowing the nature (real or imaginary) of p, q, r, and s we cannot comment on the nature of the roots.
