Got a 540 Quant 38 Verbal 27-Need Help

by rk10 » Mon Sep 13, 2010 11:46 am
Do any good universities ( India/Abroad) consider this low GMAT Score ?

Is retaking the test the only option ?

What is decent GMAT Score which one can accept calls from Top B Schools ?

My problem statement is that i am not able to identify my problem areas.

Pl help.

how have you been studying thus far? self study or have you taken a class? for a top school you would need to shoot for a mid to high 600. Increasing your score by 100 is definitely doable, but you may have to change your approach to studying.

I was at your score about 2 mths ago, and I was at 530 before any preparation. I read all the MGMAT Quant books, and was able to pull my Quant score from 36/37 to 44/46. I would recommend you start with MGMAT quant, since it looks like you could use some help in clearing your basics.
What have you read thru so far for both Quant and Verbal?
Being defeated is often only a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.

rk10,

Will probably need 650+ unless you have great work experience, etc.

I suggest the 8 Manhattan GMAT books. I found MGMAT to be the best guide and the online practice tests will also give you a detailed analysis of your results and show you exactly where you are struggling...

I really can't give you an educated opinion on this one.

Post this in the following forum and they should be able to give you very good feedback.
