Small businesses in the central Lyriana business district are more likely to receive pedestrian traffic than are larger businesses in the central Lyriana business district.

Could not make out what's wrong with this sentence

X are more likely to receive Y than Z

There is no necessity for 'are' after than. Hope i am right.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

I got this sentence from below forum, which gives incorrect sentences.
I posted this question to know why the comparisons are wrong. Hence
The sentences are neither underlined nor have 5 options
