Geometry: Right triangle

Getting Started to beat the GMAT. Below Q is not from any OG.

Q: Which of the following statements about a and b in the figure must be true ?
I. a=b II. a+b=90 III. a<60

A) I only
B) II only
C) I & II only
D) II & III only
E) I,II & III

A is your answer.

These create similar triangles because all 3 triangles have a right angles and the two smaller triangles share another angle with the largest triangle. As they are similar and a and b are corresponding, they must be equal.
