Hi team,

Here's a quick question - Should I stick to some specific material or Should I aim for as much questions and materials as possible ? By Specific material I mean, books which everyone refers- GMAT OG - latest edition and 10th edition, Manhattan: SC, CR and RC guides and GMAT Verbal Guide (latest edition).

Since, I have heaps of material for Verbal such as 1000 questions set each for RC, SC, and CR and books such as Kaplan 800, Kaplan Verbal Workbook and Princeton Crack the new GMAT, so should I target to solve as much material as possible or should I keep myself very specific regarding material for preparation. Which strategy will/can work better ?

For your better understanding, here's some more information,
* I can devote (or I am devoting) almost 4 hours in weekdays and 7-8 hours on weekends,
* I have been studying for last 1-1.5 months,
* Books I have completed - Princeton Crack the new GMAT, Kaplan Verbal Workbook (almost), and Read
Manhattan- SC, CR, RC guides
* Almost 40 days are left in my GMAT test,
* I haven't started practicing AWA and IR sections,
* I haven't started attempting OG questions,
* I haven't started giving Full Length GMAT mock test, and
* I believe that I am good at Maths - Referring score in Quantitative section

Please reply soon,

Regards,

Saurabh

Thanks Abhij,

What would you suggest- should I keep myself specific to the material or should I still aim for the heaps of material ?

Saurabh

Take a full length practice test, then use your results to direct your studying. If you're comfortable with the basics, then begin working on OG problems.

Yes, focus on the OG work. Heaps of material is the wrong way to go. Spend at least as much time reviewing questions as you do working through them. This will ensure the principles stick with you.

You would not have time to do heaps of material:
You should focus on the following in order of preference
- GMAT Prep 2 Tests
- MGMAT 6 Tests
- OG12/0G13/OG V2.
This would keep you busy for the next two months.

I would say OG books as well as MGMAT books are the way to go if you really want to put good use to your time. The MGAT SC guide helped me go from a score of 17 to just below 40. Focus on your errors if you want to be successful. Take a diagnostic test and pinpoint those areas of weakness and then tackle them to your best ability.

Good luck!
