what can i do? please help me

by casper_eng » Sun Jan 25, 2009 7:47 pm
I am an international student. I took gmat yesterday for my first time.

I got 560 47M, 20V. I think I would do better but I do not have time to take again.

In this situation, Can i be admitted at university at buffalo.

I graduated in mechanical engineering in Thailand and worked for 1.5 years.

My GPA is very low, 2.73. Can you suggest me what school I can get in?

I will take toefl next month.

Thank you in advance.

Dear casper_eng,

Honestly, I think you will have a hard time gaining admission to most schools in the US with your current GMAT score and GPA. You need to show a strong command of English and your verbal score will raise some concerns. If you can do well on the TOEFL, that will help. I think you should give serious thought to retaking your GMAT and applying next year. If you still want to proceed this year, then I think your options are quite limited. I would suggest identifying programs with GMAT averages below 600 that might be a good match for you.

Best of luck,
Lisa

I am appreciated. Thank you very much. I know that I have problem in English. I do not want to waste my time. I think the way to improve my English is studying with american. My objective here is to speak well. I just want to study in top 100 school. If I do not annoy you, Could you please suggest what university that match for me?

Many thanks
