One month?

by Reedsh » Sun Feb 17, 2008 3:46 am
Hellow,

first of all , thx for reading this.
I'm an EU student who needs to achieve a minimum of 600 and preferably about 650 to get in a business school abroad.
(I'm currently in a business school where I didn't need to get any GMAT because I graduated at the grad school of the same university)

A few months back I bought 2 books in my local bookstore without looking too much for reviews and without any knowlegde of this forum. :)
These books are
'McGraw Hill's GMAT 2008'
'Ace the GMAT 2nd edition' by Brandon Royal

I finished reading the Ace the GMAT this weekend but I haven't taken any test yet.
Also my GMAT test was scheduled next tuesday (19th febr) but I think I'm going to cancel because of a lack op preparation.
I simply didn't find the energy just after my exams and underestimated the amount of preparation needed.
That's why I would give myself another small month to complete my prep. (taking the test mid march)

Now are my questions....
Which tests do I take best? (McGraw-Hill's online practice tests or any other too?)
Do I need to buy other books or will these do fine for my target score?
Thx in advance!

In terms of resources, I usually recommend prepping with PR, Kaplan, or Manhattan GMAT. Check out my GMAT book recommendations.

With regard to structuring your GMAT prep strategy, take a look at the GMAT resource directory and the 'GMAT Strategy' tag. There's some advice there for completing your prep in a limited time frame, https://del.icio.us/beatthegmat

Good luck!

Thx, I looked at your review and I ordered the OG 11th already. (yellow book)
I hope this will do in combination with my McGraw Hill's for scoring a 650.

But I can't figure out if I have to buy something for practising the test?
I have the GMATPrep and I see you can do a free test with Princeton and Kaplan? That will be enough or not?
Thx

You get just one free test with PR and Kaplan. If you want additional tests, you will need to purchase their textbooks.
