I don't know much (really anything, to be honest) about the application process or how consulting works, but i have a question about those two things.

Do consulting services help pick out graduate programs with you or does one have to have schools already in mind beforehand, and then the consulting service would help guide through all the other stuff?

Secondly, how would using a consulting service give me an advantage at getting into a M.S program (Taxation or Accountancy) as apposed to just doing an application on my own.
