Oxford MBA

by T_A_M » Mon Jun 20, 2011 8:05 am
Hi All,
I am researching MBA programmes in Europe. I understand LBS, INSEAD, IMD are all top schools in this region. Whilst I have tried to search for older posts on this topic, which may have addressed this question, I am still not clear. How does the Oxford MBA rank? Is it considered better than INSEAD, if so why? Is it considered a top school / programme regionally and internationally? I am interested in pursuing a career in Private Equity, would Oxford MBA graduates be highly sought after in this discipline? I would sincerely appreciate your views !
Best

1. The Said Business School (SBS) at Oxford is definitely one of the top programs in Europe. However in terms of brand equity it might not compare to an INSEAD. The Oxford brand works better than the Said brand which is relatively less known.

2. PE by nature of the work depends on your past experience and network in the market. Any school by itself cannot guarantee you work in PE. Ensure you keep your expectations realistic.

I am playing Sherlock Holmes here (usage of the word "whilst") - either you are from the UK or have lived there. If so, then the best bet is to visit the campus and talk to students/professors regarding your queries.
