GMAT prep 1-550 V33 Q32

by bradley281 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 3:03 pm
I took my first GMAT prep last night after about 3 weeks of moderate Quant. only study.

I came up 4 problems short of finishing the Math and had to guess the last 2 on the Verbal to finish.

I would like to score in the 620-650 range on the real test to insure acceptance into my target schools Evening programs (Univ. of Arizona and ASU Carey), I am taking the test on Oct. 11th.

How much would did my non-completion of the math section affect my score?

Also, what kind of effort would you recommend over the next month to pull my Q score up to 40(if possible)?

I feel pretty confident in pulling up my Verbal score to a 40 since all of my practice thus far has revolved around the Q.

My plan is to work every problem Q & V from OG11 and also from the supplementary Green math guide. I plan to fully analyze my mistakes to insure understanding of the topics. Also, I will be taking 2 tests per week until the 11th. Any suggestions are helpful.

Thank you so much.

The general rule is not to leave any question unanswered; unanswered questions are very costly on the score (no one can quantify it for you though). If you run short of time, make educated guesses and move on.

As far as the plan for the exam, work around your weakness. Use the practice tests judiciously.
Wish you good luck
