The Adaptive nature of the GMAT

Hi
It seems a very basic question but i couldn't find the answer. I wanted to know whether the adaptive nature of the GMAT is sectionally inter-related or not. For example, if the Quantitative section goes really well, would the Verbal section start with difficult questions itself or will the test evaluate this section ignoring the previous section.
