I recently took the GMAT and scored a 41V. I felt least sure about the sentence correction. I'm a native speaker and have studied - but I'm finding it hard to commit the obscure rules to memory.

What do you all recommend for going from V41- 45? I've got a month before I take it again. I've looked at GMATPill and it has some interesting features - I think I could benefit from hearing someone "size up" a sentence and let me in on their strategy.

But what do you all think? Best way to conquer sentence correction?

Hi Woodencrawdad,

A Verbal Scaled Score of 41 is impressive, but I have a few questions:

1) What was your Overall Score and Quant Scaled Score on this recent GMAT?
2) What is your overall goal?
3) With a V41, you don't really have a "weak area", so why do you think Sentence Corrections is a problem for you?

Hey Woodencrawdad

I'm in the same boat, scored 41 on the verbal with most errors on the Gmat Prep coming from SC.

I asked around on the forum and people recommenced Aristotle's study guide as well as the MGMAT Sentence Correction study guide.

I purchased the MGMAT SC guide and despite the fact that I already had a pretty good level, I'm finding it useful. I think it helps identify some extra errors that you might be missing in some of the choices and that can help narrow down between two options. If you've already mastered some of the material, it will be a quick read

Another thing I did was take only 700 level SC correction I found either on this forum or in the OG.

If you find anything else, let me know also looking to add a few points to my score :)

Thanks!
