It is important that penalties for drug dealing on school grounds remain extremely severe. If the penalties became less severe, more of our students would become addicted to drugs.

The argument assumes which of the following:

Due to the severe penalties for drug dealings on school grounds, most drug dealers are currently being discourage from drug dealings in the school environs, because of the fear of consequences set down by the school authority for any student caught in such act.

Drug use is harmful to the academic careers of students, that is why the school authority has set down some sanctions for any student caught in the act. The aim of this policy is to save the lives of the student from tarnishing their careers.
