Kaplan CATs - harder or easier than the real thing?

I've taken five Kaplan practice tests, each time improving by just 10 points (so frustrating). Right now I'm at 630, and I want to be 690+. I've heard anecdotally that the Kaplan tests are a bit harder than the real thing, and you can add 20+ points to your practice test score. Obviously I'm not banking on this, but I'm curious--has anyone found this to be true?

Hi TK4819,

We had some tests that were too hard a number of years ago. We've long since updated our scores, which are now quite accurate relative to the real thing--but it's always hard to live down a mistake! Unless you're operating out of a very old edition of our books, your scores should be more or less accurate.

That said, don't get frustrated. 10 points per test is a LOT Keep working for the 690 plus, because it is achievable, but you should also be proud of your progress and improvement.
