Oxford Said Essay 2 Query

by acrao80 » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:01 am
Hello,

Hello,

I have a question about one of the Oxford essays which is

"Which recent development, world event or book has most influenced your thinking and why? "

I would like your opinion on the same. I am struggling to decide on an event. I had a genuine life changing experience in 4-5 years back. I could write about it. Essay question says that it has to be recent. So would it make sense take a recent event and relate it to what I felt earlier and the impact it had on me.

However does the event/book have to be recent ?

Too confused! Please help

Regards,
Amit

Hi acrao80,

this reply might be a little too late for you. But I thought I'd just post a reply here for others who might aspire to be admitted to the Oxford MBA programme.

I'm not too sure if an event that happened 4-5 years ago is too distant to be considered recent. I'd advise you to email the Said School of Business admissions staff to seek their help on this question?
From my own experience, I chose to write about a book that was published about 2-3 years ago and I got an admit from Oxford.

Hope this helps somewhat. All the best!
