Simon Vs Madison

by riks2883 » Sun Apr 27, 2014 6:50 pm
Hi,

I have been admitted to Wisconsin Madison (Full tuition) and Simon(60% scholarship)
I am an international student(Indian) and looking for corporate finance opportunities post MBA. I have a total of 7+ years of work experience in the corporate finance domain

I am concerned about placements for international students in the corporate finance domain and would like to choose the school which has better placements and strong network. Wisconsin is definitely a cheaper option, but I am concerned abut job prospects especially from an international student perspective

Please advise

Well, since your work is in corporate finance, you can really go anywhere (there being corporations everywhere) :). What I mean is that you are not so much location-bound, so although Simon's location may be better for the finance markets, I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference for you. (in terms of Rochester being a better location). In which case, I'd say MAdison seems like the wise choice, given the fact that it's free for you, and its higher ranked. (and actually its regional location might even make it easier when it comes to job placements, international candidates usually concentrating themselves on the coasts)

Congratulations!
And hope this helps,
JF
