Hi,
would you please take a look at my profile?

Background
Age: 30
GMAT: Male
Nationality: Chinese
Education: Bachlor of Biology from a Chinese University(GPA 75/100). Master of molecular biology from a european university (90/100)
GMAT: 760

Work Experience

2 years in a research institute in Germany
My job is to use advanced biotech tools to screen potential drug target for treating diabetes. During the time I have one research paper published on scientific journals and presented my studies on several international conferences

3 years in a leading international pharmaceutical company, China affiliate
I joined the R&D department of the company as research associate. Projects in R&D focused on the pre-clinical part of drug development, we develop promising drug candidate that will be further tested in human clinical trials before hit the market. During my stay in R&D,I developed a system for high-throughput antibody screening that allows us to screen 10 times more candidate antibodies then we previously could.

After the first year, I transferred to medical operation department because I want to gain more experience in the drug development process, especially in clinical trials and post-launch medical support. My responsibilities include review clinical trials data and developing trial report that will be submitted to FDA for drug approval. Identify scientific findings from clinical trials and publish in scientific journals. Working with marketing to develop communication strategy with physicians.

-Captain of department debating team that winning 2nd in university debating contest.
-Member of the university debating team that finished 1st in national debating contest.

Volenteer in recovery center for children with autism

Post MBA
-Business development position in pharmaceutical company with my scientific background plus business knowledge gaind through MBA.
-Venture capital position to identify and invest healthcare related start-ups in China.

Hi Karolinska,

Thanks for your post. You certainly have a solid profile. In additional to your excellent GMAT score and solid academics, you have an interesting career with a good trajectory to date.

Given your background in medical research and development your goal of business development in a pharmaceutical company is certainly logical and the adcom will likely think so too. Your long term goal of VC is a good one, and you may wish to expand on it a bit further in your "Why MBA" essays so that the adcom can clearly connect the dots between your short and long term goals.
