Stacy - please evaluate my profile....

I'm from NY - 26 yrs old - been out of school for 5 yrs and want to get my MBA to make an industry switch.

WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5 years at JPMorgan
- started off in a 2-yr leadership program
- joined the venture capital arm on the finance/accting staff
- during the spinoff of the venture capital arm, my group launched a business where I am now part of a Sales team (recently promoted from sales support to a sales manager)

UNDERGRAD
- 3.75 from a public institution
- honors program

EXTRACURRICULAR
- leadership roles for numerous charity events
- volunteer for a internet start up in California
- plan and host diversity events
- hold a major pageant title (not sure if this is good for my apps???)

GMAT sux!!!!!!! (haven't broken a 600 yet!, but I'm trying real hard to change this)

Do I stand a chance at Columbia or NYU?????

I was recently rejected from NYU but I'm not sure if it was solely due to my GMAT score, but would appreciate any feedback that can help since the schools won't give it.

Please advise....

You probably know what I am going to say - everything sounds great except for the GMAT. Under 600 will make it difficult for one of those schools. Not impossible - there is no strict cut off, but it presents a challenge. Keep working on it! What do you think the problem is? Perhaps I can suggest a prep resource.

Thanks Stacy!

The thing is I already took Kaplan and had a private tutor...

Would NYU and CU definitely reject a score under 600? What type of scores do you think will guarantee my admission?
