Cant be C!!

B & E are really close, E seems to create a Run on sentence...

IMO B.

a Group ... 'includes' not 'include' and 'is' not 'are'. That rules out C, A, D
Between B & E, graveteiro belongs makes more sense than 'which belongs'

So B

B.

E is a fragment

[long modifier], graveteiro, [relative clause],...and is...

should be:

"graveteiro VERB and VERB"

but the first verb is missing in E.

Friends,

I am confused as how the sentence should be read. I understood the first part, but unable to grasp the second one.

graveteiro belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species.

Here, the modifier refers to ovenbird family, and as well ( group, includes) matches the Subject-Verb agreement.

and is represented in virtually every kind of habitat.

The subject for this part is ovenbird family or group.

Thanks,
Viju
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

A. graveteiro belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and that are ---> group is singular and needs a "is"

B. graveteiro belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and is
---> Cream of the crap..Whats the OA...This looks to me the best answer.
C. graveteiro belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that include more than 230 species and is
---> group needs "includes" singular ....
D. graveteiro, which belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and that are ---> group is singular and needs a "is"

E. graveteiro, which belongs to the ovenbird family, a group of New World tropical birds that includes more than 230 species and is
subtle parallelism error....before and after "and" the verb is not parallel...

E is actually not a parellelism error. It is a sentence fragment. The whole sentence revolves around one noun, the intended subject of the sentence: "graveteiro." There is no verb for this subject, thus no independent clause, thus no complete sentence. Every other verb in the sentence belongs to the subject of a dependent clause and not to "graveteiro."

If you bring the sentence down to its minimal parts it shouldn't be too hard to identify.

i pick C
it cant be B since "a group of birds which includes" is wrong "includes" should be "include"

Hi,

Group is a collective noun.. So it is taken as singular.. so it should be "a group of birds which includes"
include is plural

Hope this helps!!
