Atlantic Holdings LLC has 6 subsidiary companies with combined total yearly sales of $23,100,000. By how much do the sales at the top selling company exceed the average sales per company?

I. The average sales at the lower five companies is 87.79% of the total average sales at all the Atlantic holdings subsidiaries.

II. The average sales at the highest five companies is 12/11 of total average sales at all Atlantic Holdings subsidiaries.

OA IS A

Tot sales of 6 companies = 231 * 10^5
Avg sales of 6 companies = Tot sales/6 = 38.5 * 10^ 5

Highest sales of 6 comp - Avg sales of 6 company = ?, this is what we are asked to find.

We know the avg sales of 6 companies. If we find the sales of top selling company it is suffice.

1.Given avg sales of lowest 5 companies.

Avg sales of lowest 5 companies = 87.79% of tot avg sales => 0.8779 * 38.5 * 10^5
Above value is the average sales of lowest 5 companies.

Now to find the highest value = Tot sales - sales of lowest 5 companies
= 231 * 10 ^ 5 - 5(0.8779 * 38.5 * 10^5)

We get the highest value with which we can find the difference.

2. 12/11 * 231 * 10^5 gives the average sales of top 5 companies.

We don't have any information to find the highest value. INSUFF

Hence A.

Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
