Total fine after day 1 = $0.10
Total fine after day 2 = $0.20 as 2*(0.10) < (0.10 + 0.30)
Total fine after day 1 = $0.40 as 2*(0.20) < (0.20 + 0.30)
Total fine after day 1 = $0.70 as (0.40 + 0.30) < 2*(0.40)

The correct answer is B.
