a - BECAUSE OF much not contain a clause (it has PUT as a verb making "erosion..shovel" a clause); REACH OF is required (not FOR)
b - PUTTING is not parallel within anything else

c - many errors; riverbeds are thrust-ed to surface BY VOLCANIC ACTIVITY is lost; VOLCANIC ACTIVITY is positioned as parallel elements with "erosion, prehistoric glacier movement"

d-same as c; riverbeds are thrust-ed to surface BY VOLCANIC ACTIVITY is lost; VOLCANIC ACTIVITY is positioned as parallel elements with "erosion, prehistoric glacier movement"; REACH OF is required (not FOR). Additionally modifier PUTTING...SHOVEL modify clause " volcanic activity that thrust ancient, gold -bearing riverbeds to the surface" - not the intended meaning.

But as E is starting with since , it should be present perfect sentence ...

SINCE is mainly used to indicate casual relationship (ie BECAUSE) in gmat and need not be attached with present perfect tense. Any tense is OK with Since
