hopeless mba candidate?

by MBAhopeful » Sat Feb 17, 2007 12:02 am
I recently graduated as an Electronics Engineer in the Philippines and I want to pursue an MBA in the US while I still have the zeal to study. Here are my facts.

Engineering degree
Intern work experience
Passed licensure exams (Only 36% of 5000+ test takers passed)
Very low GPA (2.107/4) 1.0 is the passing grade
Concentrated more on Extra-curricular activities (became engr. council president, professional org president, official delegate to an international event, formed a non-profit org, recipient of community development award, etc.)

Planning to take gmat prep.

Pls. be brutally frank. Am I dreaming to get into a good B-school? What are my chances? Where? :?

Hoping for you to ease my agony.. :? :(

I am sure that a good school will admit you - there are many, many options! But I cannot recommend ones for you without knowing more about what you are looking for in a program. There are many considerations - size, location, programs offered, recruiting. You should think about what you would like out of your experience and beyond, and look into scools that meet your criteria.
