As the name states I am a confused 1L.

I attend a top 50 school in NY but find it quite miserable. I had a 3.1 gpa in college in a top criminal justice program. I usually test well but for some reason the mass amount of essays in law school is really crushing me. I was wondering if looking to change to business school is a viable or even a good idea. With the gpa what kind of gmat would I need to get into a respectable B school?

Dear Confused 1L,

It depends on what the rest of your application looks like and your rationale for going to business school beyond that you hate law school. The higher you score on the GMAT, the more schools will be within reach for you. Generally speaking, scoring over a 680 will get you in a competitive range for most top 30 programs.

Good luck,
Lisa
