Although the batting coach conceded the new lineup, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that in the future they must be agreed upon by all the managers before being put into practice.

A: conceded the new lineup, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that in the future they must be agreed upon by all the managers before being put into practice
B: conceded the new lineup to be used, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that future lineups would require the consent of all the managers before being putting them into practice
C: agreed to the new lineup, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that future lineups must be agreed upon by all managers before being put into practice


The answer is C

I am not writing all the options here.
Can you please let me know about the idiomatic usage of concede.. and the words the new lineup after concede in the original sentence - are they not serving as noun?

Following are the 2 idioms involving 'concede':

concede something to someone or something
to yield something to someone or a group; to grant something to someone or something.
At midnight, Ronald conceded the election to his opponent.

concede to someone or something
to yield to someone or a group; to give in to someone or a group.
In the end we conceded to the demands of the petition. I will not concede to you.

Clearly the usage of 'concede' is incorrect here as there is always a 'to' related to 'concede' but its not present here in this case.

A: conceded the new lineup, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that in the future they must be agreed upon by all the managers before being put into practice - how can the coach concede a lineup ?? makes no-sense

B: conceded the new lineup to be used, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that future lineups would require the consent of all the managers before being puttingthem into practice - definitely wrong.

C: agreed to the new lineup, in which the player's strengths were better utilized, he said that future lineups must be agreed upon by all managers before being put into practice

I go with option C.

Hi , have you ever heard cricket commentary?

Gavaskar says the bowler has already conceded 20 runs in 4balls. blah blah..

Conceded doesn't fit here. Because the coach has not yielded his lineup for some one else.

Coach agreed is correct.
