What is the ratio of 3/4 to the product 4(3/4)?

(A) 1/4
(B) 1/3
(C) 4/9
(D) 9/4
(E) 4
First solve 4(3/4) = 16/4*3/4 = 48/4 = 12.
Let x=3/4 and make substitutions. Now the question is "What is the ratio of x to 4x?" And the answer is clearly
1/4
