Please evaluate profile

Hi! I am very interested in applying to top MBA programs. Please evaluate my profile and comment on my target schools. I'll be submitting applications for Round 2.

Mexican Male
27 years old by August 2011
GMAT 730 - Q47 V44 AWA5.5
Toefl ibt 115
Undergrad - 83 out of 100 top 5 mexican university (Tec de Monterrey)... December 2008

Work experience - Entrepreneur

Founder & CEO of Almacenes SOLAR (launched March 2006)
- Logistics services provider for companies that produce industrial product (ie steel, precious minerals, non perishable consumer products)
- The services include planning of logistics routes, warehousing, import/export services.
- Clients are from Mexico, USA, Belgium, Brazil, Israel

Founder & CEO of Transportes SOLAR (launches September 2010)
- Transportation services provider
- It is a complement for my first company. We subcontracted the transportation service providers when we planned the logistics for a given company. We now offer these services along with the services for my first company.

ECs

Have been collaborating for almost 3 years with an NGO that offers aid to the elders and the handicapped. I organize and coordinate fundraisers, as well as donating myself and in the name of my company
Participated in an internship with an organization within my university that locates aspiring entrepreneurs and provides them the necessary educational tools to enhance their opportunities for success.
Varsity soccer my fresman year.

Post - MBA goals

Entrepreneurship - I want to expand the services my company offers within Mexico and also get into the US market. That is my immediate goal. I also want to mentor aspiring mexican entrepreneurs, non-profit.

Long term goals - I want to be an entrepreneur my whole life. I want to have a company that covers logistics services planning and all the pertaining services also, transportation (trucks, railroads, ships) and logistics consulting.
I want to get into social entrepreneurship in Mexico. I want to create two NGOs, one that mentors aspiring entrepreneurs in their 20s, and one that gathers funds to help people that are retired or handicapped.

Additional info - I started working while I was still studying because of personal reasons. I basically had to support my family. My grades did suffer a bit.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Overall you have a solid profile. You've got a great GMAT score and really interesting work experience to date. Your greatest challenge will be your goals essay. Since you appear to be a successful entrepreneur, you'll want to be specific on exactly how the MBA can help you grow and expand your company. The adcom might just think you're doing great on your own, so outlining specific skill sets and courses will be key to putting together a successful goals essay. Also, as with all entrepreneurial applicants, you need to have a plan for your company while you are in school. Why you won't be explicitly asked this in your application, you very well may be asked this in an interview. Be prepared to discuss what will happen to your company, who will run it, etc. as these will be key issues the adcom will be questioning.
