At first i thought even still now I think it is one of the easiest question in DS although I am wrong!!

Q:What is the value of y?

I.When y is multiplied with 6 the value is in between 41 and 45.
II.When y is multiplied with 3 the value is in between 19 and 23.

I marked D,but the answer is E.

I am going mad in my dreams too. Please clarify

Dont assume anything extra

How can you assume y is integer?

in (1) y could be 43/6 also
in (2) y could be 22/3

hence E

Well said Nitya!!

GMAT is all about trying to remove our unnecessary assumptions/conclusion blinds and read critically.

This is the thread that connects pretty much all sections of GMAT from MATH to Verbal to AWA.
