Hi Stacy/Amy,

One more profile evaluation :)

Indian, Male, 3 yrs WE, Indian Institute Technology (IIT),MS from Penn State, 760 GMAT (Q51 V42)

WE: 3 yrs in the financial services industry (credit cards)- of which the last year at a Fortune 10 company. The job profile involves pretty in depth analytics and project management. Am likely to get promoted in a couple of weeks as well.

Edu: Undergrad in India, GPA 6.8/10 and MS in OR in a top 20 school. GPA 3.4

Extra Currics: Was the head of the student body in IIT and lead one of the biggest student festivals in India. Was also on the graduate executive council while doing my MS. Was involved with a startup while at IIT but had to cut ties once i moved to the US. Was on the editorial board of INFORMS(an Operations Research organization) student news letter. Last few years, have been working with an amateur golf tour that organizes weekly tournaments, the profits which are given to make-a-wish foundation (charity). I have also been recently invited to be a board member. I am also a volunteer on some of the PGA tour events which happen to close to where i live- and as you can guess I am pretty passionate about golf. I have other "standard" volunteer experiences in my MS/UG.

Looking to apply to

R1: K/Chic/Ross
R2: W/Duke
RD: Columbia

Goals: Short term - plan to get into consulting to get exposure to various diverse industries . Long term - move into general management.

What do you think are my chances at these schools? Any obvious downfalls (GPA?)?

Any other schools that you would recommend?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Hi mojomover,

I think your chances are good - your GPA isn't amazing, but with your strong GMAT I think your academic profile is competitive. I think your work experience sounds interesting and it's excellent to show progression. Having a history with one extracurricular where you have showed leadership is also great.

If you are able to articulate your goals and background effectively, I think you should be competitive in the applicant pool.

Good luck!
