Is it appropriate to start off a short-answer essay with a quote? I am considering either a humorous quote or one from a well known figure in my industry to start off my primary factors section.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Gators1,

It could certainly be appropriate, but it could also be inappropriate. It really depends on the context and if the quote helps to clarify something in your essay.

Be careful with humor in general, since most people don't have the same sense of humor, especially across cultures.

Good luck!
