hi

I am planning to apply to emba programs. In one of the schools essays, I was asked to write about how will I go about spending 20 hrs/week required to be successful in the program when I have additional commitments like job, family etc? How do I answer this question? Any pointers?

Hello,

This essay should be straightforward and concrete. And relatively short. After a brief introduction, you could discuss in one paragraph your work situation, and specific adjustments you will make there to accommodate the EMBA schedule (perhaps delegating some work or modifying travel requirements). Then in another paragraph you could briefly discuss your non-work commitments and adjustments if any you'd make there. For example, if you're volunteering 5 hours a week, that might have to be cut back, and/or you can mention support from your spouse/partner if that's relevant. Also, if you've previously attended school or taken courses while working full time and done well, you could mention that as evidence that you can successfully manage this additional commitment.
