Profile Evaluation

by ambitiousvik » Wed Oct 22, 2008 6:29 pm
Good day,
Can you please evaluate my profile and recommended whether I have chances for getting admission in Insead, ISB, LBS, University of Chicago GSB?
Age : 29
Work Experience : 6 years (last 2 years managing, leading IT Teams ,Rest is 4 years IT ) , All in Australia
Qualification : MS(Australia) - Computer Science
Prince2 Certified Project Manager
Citizenship : Australia (Previously Indian)
GMAT Score : 700
Do you think GMAT score is enough to get into these schools?

Regards

Vik

Vik,

How were your grades as both an undergrad and graduate student? Was your work experience purely technical or did you interact with clients and have more business-related responsibilities?

Hi Linda,

Thanks for the reply.

Experience in nutshell :-

6 years all consulting experience on various clients in Mails & Logistic area , Online search.
Client interaction is all the time and work closely with the management team.
Last2 .5 years has been more leading managing roles on client side :-
1) Leading a operation team ( 6 months)
2) Leading a development team ( 1 year)
3) Project Manager and Delivery lead for all minor works ( 1 year)

Grades:-
Under grade: 70 %
Graduate is around the same.

I am not sure this will help or not, But i am also done certification in Prince2 Project management methodology

I have couple of questions, if you can answer that would be great :-

1) What are chances for getting into the colleges like INSEAD or ISB ?
2) Can you suggest other one year colleges (in the same tier)?
3) I am planning to do MBA in 2009 July session or Jan 2010 , I have a year from now, What kind of experience I should gain to help getting admission in MBA and post MBA as well.

Regards

Vikrant

Thanks for the additional information. To answer your questions:

1) You have a competitive profile for INSEAD, particularly if your work took place in a multi-national environment.
2) Cornell and London Business School both have 15-month programs. Also check out IMD.
