2 traps here:
Subject verb agreement - appliances - do not / does not(singular, so wrong)
Idiom - Focus on

Clearly, Option D is the best choice.

i wud say its an issue of parallelism

appliances , such as a dishwasher is wrong , it shud be dishwashers (parallel with appliances)

A,B,c is out
b/n D and E in E use of when is wrong(meaning changed)

so D
