If n and p are integers, is p>0?
1). n+1>0
2). np>0
1. n= 0.5 or n= - 0.5
2. n and p = +ve or n and p = -ve
Combine: if n = 0.5, p= +ve and if n = -0.5 then p= -ve.
[spoiler]So E

1 tells you that n>-1. Since it is an integer, n=0,1,2,3,4...(either 0 or any positive integer). Is not sufficient, though, because it tells you nothing about p.

2 tells you that either p and n are both negative or both positive. Also is not sufficient, since p could be either positive or negative.

Together, 2 eliminates the possibility of n's equaling 0. Thus, n is a positive integer, and p must also be a positive integer. So, C
