2 days after the 1st day, the fine will double, 0.1*2*2=0.4 (fine on the 3rd day)
the 4th day it will increase by 30 cents, 0.4+0.3=0.7

Answer: B

Can someone please explain the steps to achieve this result?

Thank you,
K
First day, the fine = $0.10
Second day, the fine = $0.10 * 2 = $0.20
Third day, the fine = $0.20 * 2 = $0.40
Fourth day, the fine = $0.40 * $0.30 = $0.70, we added $0.30 as we get a greater value if we double it.

The correct answer is B.
