What is the source of this ? The question stem is incorrect .

If we divide 3,176,793 by 2066 we will never get an integer ....look at the unit digit ..it is 6 and no digit multiplied with 6 will result in a 3. So z is either a fraction or a zero.

If z = 0 then it 2066z can not be a divisor because 0 is not a divisor of any numbers (1 is ) .

So the stem doesn't make any sense.

problem:

If x is a positive integer and z is a non-negative integer such that (2,066)^z is a divisor of 3,176,793, what is the value of z^x - x^z?

Solution:

Since, 2,066 is not a divisor of 3,176,793

put z = 0 and we got it
0^x - x^0 = 0-1 = 1

The problems says (2,066)z is a divisor of 3,176,793. If z=0 then 3,176,793/ (2,066)z will be undefined. I believe the problem does not make any sense.

A) -81
B) -1
C) 0
D) 1
E) It Cannot Be Determined
Since 2,066 is even and 3,176,793 is odd, we see that the only possible value for z is 0.

Thus, 0^x = 0 and x^0 = 1, so 0 - 1 = -1.
