Hello,
Can you please tell me how to solve this:
A circle with center O and radius 5 is shown in the xy-plane. Lines that intersect the circle in 2 points include which of the following ?
I. y = -x + 1
II. y = 2x + 1
III. y = (1/2)x - 6
a) I only
b) II Only
c) I and II Only
d) I and III only
e) I, II and III
OA: C
I am thinking that in I, the y-intercept is 1 and the slope is -1. However, I don't know how to tell from this whether I intersects the circle in 2 points. Thanks a lot.
