Horns

A proposal has been made to trim the horns from rhinoceroses to discourage poachers; the question is whether tourists will continue to visit game parks parks to see rhinoceroses once the animals' horns are trimmed.

a.) whether tourists will continue to visit game parks parks to see rhinoceroses once the animals' horns are

b.) whether tourists will continue to visit game parks to see rhinoceroses once the animals' horns have been

Good question - you've altered the answer choices to ask a specific question, here's my interpretation:

will continue ... once horns are trimmed
will continue ... once horns have been trimmed

This questions outlines a hypothetical situation, I think the present (are) is better, though I think the second is still right (since that is the OA).

Bingo!!! :D .. you are right..i have slightly changed the first choice ...

This is a question from OG...and OG says that it is better to use present progressive here...but i could not get this point...

If these 2 choices were part of the question in real exam then what to do?? choose A or B?? :shock:
