Belasur, Moldania and Ricetor are the biggest drinkers in the world, quaffing between 15 to 18 litres per adult annually, according to the World Medical Organisation in a new report. But those figures only tell part of the story. Not everyone drinks. When abstainers are excluded the national averages look extremely different.

What is the role played by the two bold face statements in the above passage?

A. Bold face 1 is the author's opinion; Bold face 2 is a fact which contradicts that opinion.
B. Bold face 1 is a fact which supports the main conclusion of the argument; Bold face 2 is that conclusion.
C. Bold face 1 is an implication of a finding; Bold face 2 is another implication of the same finding.
D. Bold face 1 is an implication of a finding; Bold face 2 is an observation which supports the main conclusion of the argument.
E. Bold face 1 is a fact which opposes the main conclusion of the argument; Bold face 2 is another fact which supports it.

We can't see which parts are supposed to be in bold face. Please edit the question and use the bold button (the button with the B on it) for formatting.

Cheers,

IMO answer should be D.

The first statement is a fact, may be from some study or survey report. The same could also be stated as an implication of a finding or any survey. I was confused between C and D but D seems more appropriate to me because the statement D is also an observation which totally support the main conclusion of the agruement because of some people abstain from drinking alcohol then the average consumption of alcohol of alcohol drinkers is mot mere 15-18 liters, it is much more than that.

IMO E. I'm not sure how can implication of a finding be same as a fact?
