Hey all,

I recently just applied to Harvard's 2 + 2 program. I wasn't sure if I was going to so I sort of took the GMAT last minute. I studied for 3 days (about 20 hours though) here's a copy of how i did:

Verbal Quantitative Total Analytical Writing
TEST INFORMATION (Score / % Below)
Test Date (MM/DD/YY)
05/02/08 42 / 95% 44 / 72% 710 / 93% 6.0 / 89%

I feel lucky that I did that well without being able to study, but I'm still concerned that it's not enough. I was going to try and take it again before the admissions cut off, but I just didn't have time.

I have about a 3.7 gpa, due to some crazy mishap with a professor. I don't have much business experience and although I think I have great extracurriculars I'm sure they are about average for a 2+2 applicant.

Any thoughts on my chances? It'd also be interesting if other people could post their stats.

Best of luck,

What is your degree in?

I think it's hard to say what will be good enough for the 2+2 program because it's the first year that it's ever been offered. No one really knows what HBS is looking for or how many spots will even be offered.

There have been a couple of other people that have posted here that applied. I also applied. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Oh and to answer your question, here are my stats:

Double major: Mechanical Engineering and Math
GPA: 3.99
GMAT: 740 (Q-49/V-42)
I've got some decent extracurriculars (honors fraternity president, etc)
I also took 2 years off from school between my freshman and sophomore years to volunteer for my church

Anyway, good luck with the process. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Oh and you mentioned that you didn't really have any business experience - I think that's actually what HBS is really looking for with the 2+2 program. So I wouldn't worry about that.
