What is the pen like for the test?

It's roughly the size of a normal pen. The tip has a fine point - it's fairly easy to write tidily.

For what it's worth, I think there is a correlation between writing large and scoring well. When people write small, they tend to make careless errors, lose their place, or have trouble crossing things out (remember: you can't erase).
