hi,
I am a civil engineer with a work ex of 17 months and I want to know about the gmat examination and areas on which it tests a candidate.Also I'd like to know about the test dates and colleges if i were to take the admission in 2014.
And I also want some suggetions about the college to which i should apply to , keeping in mind the fact that i am a civil engineer with interest in philanthrophic work ,motivatiing people and writing all sorts of ideas that pop up in my mind.

The GMAT covers 2 main topic areas: Quant and verbal. The quant has a number of disciplines that are at high school math level (but more challengingly worded). The verbal covers reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction.

You can take the exam at any point during the year. For 2014 admittance I would recommend trying to finish your exam in late spring or early summer of 2013
