I think the answer should be A.

Explanation :

C is wrong because like is used to compare the clause.
B while is used to show contrast not the similarity
D Similarly to not forgiving , unidiomatic expression.
E. Inspite of used to show contrast.

While is used for contrast,but it acts as subordinate too..
thats what my question was
