Ask Stratus Admissions Counseling

In regards to recommendations and leadership roles I have been in a tough industry. I work in architecture and over the past four years throughout the recession, most of my supervisors have been laid off and many of my projects have been put on hold or canceled. Moving up has been impossible as my firm has struggled to stay afloat. (We've gone from 160+ employees down to 70).

I am going after an MBA as a career changer with 5 years experience. Should I describe this situation in the optional essay? I'm not sure how to put a positive spin on this other than it has made clear to me I need to change directions.
