What was the maximum temperature of Harare on May 15, this year?
(I) It was the hottest day of the year. the last year's hottest was 44 C
(II) Every year the maximum temperature shoots up by 2 C

IMO "C"

statement(1)=> gives info of last year's max temp but not this year's. Not sufficient
statement(2)=> gives relation b/w last year's and this year's max temp. Alone, it is not sufficient, but along with (1), it works out.Obviously, this year's max temp was on May'15th and it was 44+2 = 46 C
